Is outpatient rehab treatment effective? Absolutely, when done properly.
Outpatient treatment is a proven way to address addiction long-term, and it is done in stages that help the person with an addiction transition from their old life into a new one without relying on substances. It can be done while holding down a job or going to school. Progress in outpatient treatment can be measured so the person with addiction understand progress and can take the next steps in recovery.
However, outpatient treatment has its limitations. It’s not a substitute for inpatient treatment that is necessary for many persons recovering for addiction, or for intensive outpatient treatments that may help someone in the first steps of transition from inpatient care. If you or a loved one has need for inpatient or intensive outpatient treatment, but don’t know where to go, contact us, and we’ll help you find a program. But we won’t attempt to treat you ourselves. Because we understand what our current program can do–and what needs to be done by a facility geared to that element of recovery treatment.
We chose to start Edge Treatment with a focus on outpatient programs that can reach a large segment of the recovering population requiring mainstream outpatient recovery services. We can help people continue through stages of recovery from rehab counseling, through transitional counseling, to maintaining lasting recovery.
For many people, outpatient treatment is a necessary, powerful tool that helps recovery continue and progress while handling other aspects of life. Our counselors understand that this is a critical part of lasting recovery, and they have the experience to help you or a loved one progress.
They can also spot warning signs–emotional or physical triggers, stress points, or other factors–that could cause treatment to be interrupted or fail.
